Hampden Farms Awarded 2024 Capacity Building Grant
We are thrilled to announce that Hampden Farms is a recipient of the 2024 Capacity Building Grants from the Colorado Developmental Disabilities Council (CDDC). This grant will support us in developing free and accessible digital media that shares the power of supporting and investing in the intersectionality of disability, race, and social/economic disparity.

At Hampden Farms, we have experienced the power of storytelling to foster understanding and promote inclusivity. Through this project, we aim to increase the capacity of families and individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) to fully participate in and contribute to all aspects of community life. By harnessing the potential of digital media, we hope to amplify resources and organizations the that inspires dialogue, showcases diverse perspectives, and highlights the importance of embracing differences.
Our service area for this initiative will encompass Denver County and extend statewide, ensuring that our efforts have a far-reaching impact. We are committed to leveraging this opportunity to amplify inclusion, integration, and opportunities for individuals with IDD to thrive within the community at-large.
This project is near and dear to me. Last year, my life-LIFED, leaving me crushed about the future. Initially planning for a three-month sabbatical to recharge and then return to the same routine that led to burnout, everything fell apart during my time off. Navigating significant challenges such as my spouses health scare, a lay-off, and numerous medical and therapeutic appointments for our neurodiverse family, the past year and eight months have been dedicated to breaking the cycle of burnout linked to the lack of support around being neurodiversity and raising neurodiverse teenagers. I am grateful to now be in a positive emotional and mental space, ready to share insights based on resources and the support provided by various organizations to neurodiverse families like ours.
